Who Am I?
Who Am I?
It’s the me you cannot see.
There’s a hidden me
------a spiritual me
---------an intangible me
That you cannot see.
It’s the essence of me,
Reality;
My feelings,
my thoughts,
Far within the outer me.
Words can’t reveal
This inner me,
Its desires and passions
Form a deep, deep sea.
But a still small voice
from within the depths of me,
Calls tenderly
To that inner me.
When I’m quiet and relaxed,
There’s a voice very near,
And it comforts me,
It’s distinct and clear.
Ho! The presence I feel
On earth from above;
The inner “me,”
Knows that God is love.
I feel a-joining,
I feel a- binding,
The soul is a-stirring,
Desire is a-purring;
These”goings-on”
Are pure evidence,
That faith moves God,
And not common sense.
So come, my soul
Your Maker is here,
Receive the mold
Of Christ, so dear.
The inner you
Will feel complete,
As you sit and learn
At His feet.
