Where Art Thou

I -- Who is “I?”
It’s the inner me.
I -- Who is “I?”
Where Art Thou?

Oh my love,
my flesh and blood
I wonder now -
Where art thou?

How’s your mind,
your health, your steps?
I do wonder,
How you rest.

Do you think
Do you give thought,
to your loved ones,
Those with whom you have ought?

How you’re loved
Missed and considered -
“God has hid him,”
Is what we figure.

Do you weep
Or do you moan?
Have you a bed
To call your own?

Where’s your soul
residing now -
Does it commune
With the Lord somehow?

Does grief assail you
In the midnight hour?
Do fears torment
And make you cower?

Do you call on God
And seek His face?
Don’t you know He’s there
In that very place?

My dearest child,
Reach out -grab a hold;
Fight for your life,
Fight for your soul.

With love,
your mom...
