In Memory of Sue Savage...
In Memory of Sue Savage...
“Why are you troubled?”
Jesus asks today.....
She is not here
She has gone away.
Away from the pain
Which she could not endure;
Away from the pain -
For which there was no cure.
Do not be saddened,
Lift up your heart with glee;
Remember, dear one -
She now resides with me.
Lift up your head!
Don’t let your spirits sink.
Remember her laughter,
This is what you want to think.
Remember the joys,
The things that made her smile
And she’d throw back her head
And her teeth would gleam awhile!
So why be troubled
With such memories galore?
They are at your fingertips -
Take the time to explore.
As you allow your thoughts
To whisk the gloom away;
The clouds of discontent
Will vanish away.
Fight off that despair
That wants to conquer you;
Strive to walk in peace
For that which you are due.
Benefit from the life
She shared with you;
Embrace it gently
Her gift to you.
Yes, you feel the hurt,
The wound has not closed.
In time it will heal;
That’s the way it goes.
Lay your grief in the lap
Of our Almighty King;
Nestle in His bosom;
It’s safe to cling.
He’s the God of hope
And of many tomorrows;
Wipe your eyes and lay aside
Every one of your sorrows.
She lives on.....
In the minds of young hearts;
In the flowers she planted,
To which she gave a start.
She lives on....
In children’s memories
Her works of talent
Fill the community.
She lives on......
her soul is above;
At peace and secure
With her Savior of love.
Let not your heart be troubled,
Be of a good cheer.
If she were asked to return -
She’d reply - “I’m staying here!”
