The Call
Psalm 102:19-20
For He hath looked down from the height of His sanctuary;
from heaven did the Lord behold the earth;
to hear the groaning of the prisoner;
to loose those that are appointed to death.
Do you ever travail in prayer and groan for "prisoners
of sin?"
Once we were prisoners of disobedience and iniquity,
living in ungodly lusts. We wanted to live right, but
we sinned, the first chance we got. We confessed, and
were forgiven, and we stayed on the merry-go-round a
while - sinning and confessing.
We can relate to being prisoners of sin. But now -
praise God - we are prisoners for Jesus.
Sin is a prison, and many are tired, weary and anxious
to be released from the sin that wars in their
members.
That's where God needs you, my friend. He needs you
to take time and observe others' needs. Travail is a
divine prayer demonstration. It rises from the deep
innermost sanctum of the soul. It makes you groan,
when you take note of the sorrow, the hurting, the
brokenness, the woes, and pitfalls of those who are
yet bound in sin's prison.
God needs you to intercede for those on death row,
that they will seek the Lord while He may be found,
meet Jesus, and avert death - the lethal recompense
for their crime. God is not willing that anyone
should perish.
Will you meet your other travailing sisters and
brothers in the Body of Christ, at the feet of Jesus?
This prayer call commands you to take time from your
busy routine, morning, noon or evening - whenever the
Spirit of God leads you.
You may find yourself in a mountainous terrain,
praying for a tribe of unreached people. He may lead
you into intercession for runaways who live beneath
the city streets of another nation. Prayer may lead
you into the back side of the desert, where nomadic
tribes are embracing another deity. God knows those
that are His, and you are His tool - His instrument -
to reach their hearts, and rescue them from satan's
hand.
Martyred families, hard-working, struggling
missionaries, rejected Alzheimer victims, and abused,
misused souls all need words of exhortation and
edification from above. As you therefore have
opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially
unto them who are of the Household of Faith. Pray for
the need without ceasing, my friend.
Your effectual, fervent prayer will avail much, the
Bible says. You are the righteous of the Most High
God. The prayer call is a high calling of God in
Christ Jesus!
Have you been feeling someone else's hurts or grief,
lately? If so, this is the Holy Spirit, leading you
into intercession. God needs you to care for those
who are crying. He has implanted His Word of Love and
Compassion within you so you’ll feel someone else’s
pain. He is looking down from the height of His
Sanctuary, to see who is mindful of the lost, the
broken-hearted, the orphans, the widows, the maimed,
lame, lost and blind in His earth.
His purpose for us today is to allow the Spirit of God
to fall upon us right now. Yield to the will of your
Father who wants to appoint and anoint you.
Do you see the brokenhearted before you? Pray for
words to bind up their wounds and if you're led to
speak to them, have faith that your words will perform
wholeness.
Take a step of faith!
Do you sometimes feel an urge to throw your arms
around a bewildered, sorrowful-looking elderly one who
is wandering around in the marketplace or in your
neighborhood? How many times, have you patted a young
one on the back, and said kind words of endearment?
It is your words of loving kindness, that God uses to
draw such a one unto Himself. Oh, how He needs you
and I to answer the holy call - the call of Salvation.
Jesus died to place that call down in you! Be His
trumpet and cry loud!
That insistent yearning that rises up in you
sometimes, to protect the bruised, the completely
crushed and shattered in life, the oppressed and
broken, comes from God.
Don't hide your gift under a bushel.
The urge to give money, clothes or food unto others
comes from agape-love, which was conceived in your
spiritual bowels of mercies. The Bible instructs us
to give in simplicity - not to be seen, but rather to
make up for that which others lack. God wants to see
their needs fulfilled, because He's heard their cries,
and has promised not to withhold any good thing. You
are His answer for those dear ones, my friend. Oh,
how good it will feel to be the giver - the anonymous
arm of the Lord, who needs you to bless others here in
the earth.
This manifold outreach to others, is a heavenly call
upon your life – a prayer call, a holy call and a
worthy vocation. Give earnest heed, and answer the
call, my friend. Give yourself to the Master now - we
don't have much time! Give yourself to Jesus, and He
shall make you feel sublime! Let Him take care of
you, as you begin to take care of His business here in the earth!
