Self-Righteousness

Philippians 3:9

And be found in Him not having mine own righteousness.

This morning, my heart is indicting me.  My friend,
God has convicted me of the spirit of bossiness.  It
is so ugly.

Self-righteous saints feel better than others.

Lord, let me not feel righteous in my own self.  Oh
help me to remember from whence you brought me.  Help
me stay broken in spirit, knowing that if You leave
me, I’m lost.

I am not righteous, in and of myself.  You have given
me the command to put on righteousness, and when I put
on Christ, it’s His robe of righteousness I’m wearing.

Let me be found in You, Father, without self-righteous
thoughts, deeds and words.

Oh, that I may remember that my flesh will "act out"
at  any given moment, without the covering of the
righteousness of Christ.

I come to you today, repenting for any high-minded
ways you find in me. Cleanse me, and I shall be clean.
