Joy
Philippians 4:4
Rejoice in the Lord alway, and again I say rejoice.
The word “joy” means emotional excitement, gladness
and delight over blessings received or expected for
self and for others.
If you knew what the Lord has in store for you, you
would stand up right now and praise Him.
Rejoice in the Lord, and faith will show you a vision.
Don’t wait until you see your blessings. Rejoice
with expectation and delight now! Act like you
believe God is preparing to bless you.
Don’t forget to rejoice with others who are also
awaiting blessings.
Did you know that the spirit of joy is contagious?
When you smile, others will smile with you. When you
feel the love of God moving on you to rejoice and
sing, someone beside you will pat their foot right
along with you.
Joy takes your mind off negative things. Joy removes
sorrow, and sighing. Joy sees the troubles of the
world as a glass half full - not as a glass half
empty. Joy takes the lemons it gets and makes
lemonade!
Joy knows that God is Sovereign and nothing takes God
by surprise.
True joy enters the mind and strengthens it with Holy
Ghost might. Doubt, fear, stress and anxiety fall
down flat without a whimper, when joy is in the camp!
Exercise your joy and let it bless you. Rejoice in
the Lord - not in situations which can change in a
moment. Rejoice in Christ - not in man who is
double-minded and moody. Who was it that died and
rose again, because He loves you dearly? Oh! It is
Jesus! Then let out a "Hallelujah!" and tell all that
you have a testimony!
Rejoice that your name is written in Glory, and
there's not a thing satan can do about it! Joy chases
away weakness, headaches, and gloom. It puts your
mind on things above - and takes your thoughts off
yourself and how you feel. Let the spirit of joy rule
your emotions, and see what a blessed day you will
have.
Rejoice because you're whole, perfect and entire -
lacking nothing, and God is not going to withhold any
good thing from you.
Rejoice in the Lord God, who chastens you out of love,
not from some principle of punishment. Although the
form of correction may seem grievous for the present,
afterward it will surely yield a peaceable fruit of
joy! God is Love, and God is Joy!
Don't you just feel joy pouring out of your pores,
when you think about what all He's done for you, down
through the years? Well lift up those lovely hands
and show your Father how much you appreciate Him for
this gift of joy! Smile up at Him. He is most
certainly lifting up His countenance upon you, my
friend. You've got His undivided attention! Hallelujah! What a Saviour!
