A Good Health Habits
2 Corinthians 4:16; 3 John 2
But though our outward man perish . . Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest be in health.
The Lord searches the whole man - outer and inner - to
know us. His eye is upon every cell, every centimeter
of every blood vessel, and every malfunctioning tissue
in you and in me. He is the Lord, your God, who hath
said He would perfect that which concerns you.
When you are concerned about yourself, it shows up in
your body. Be not careful for anything, for anxiety
takes it toll in your members. Too much concern
becomes anxiety, and anxiety brings forth sickness.
Be not anxious for anything!
When you exert yourself beyond your control, you have
disobeyed the Word which says - Keep your heart with
all diligence. The heart is the center of you -
everything hinges on how it operates. It is delicate
and fragile. Slow down. Take a breath and exhale
slowly.
Be careful not to let fear of man, make you run your
body down. God opens doors, that men close, and
closes doors that men open. Not one thing you or I
do, will lengthen our days. It is appointed unto man
once to die. He alone knows that day. You can only
do so much.
Don't open the door for the outer man to perish sooner
than usual. It can only take so much neglect. God
will show you how to recover that which was lost.
Seek ye the Lord. Put no confidence in the flesh.
Remember to do as the disciples did - they came apart
and rested awhile, as Jesus advised them to do.
Beloved, be not afraid of the pestilence that walks in
darkness, as we lie down to sleep in the night.
Although it is a devourer the Lord says that His eye
is upon us. There is no corruption that can take our
lives, if God has determined that we shall live, and
not die. Nothing is impossible to God. When that
immune system breaks down, we are open and naked unto
the eyes of a Lord, who said - "I am the Lord that
healeth thee." Because God wants you in good
health, you shall surely recover, my friend. Fear
not! Fret not! Faith will add days and years to your
obedient life in Christ. Remember King Hezekiah.
If you are not "up to par," physically, today, give no
thought to when will you regain your health, but
rather give glory and praise to the Lord that you have
breath in your lungs, and blood running warm in your
veins. Praise Him in your heart, for your sound mind.
Lift that blessed head, and look to the hills.
That's where your help is coming from. Just think of
His goodness to you - how He woke you up this morning.
He's the One who started you on your way. Can you
give Him a little smile, and just wave your hands His
way? Hallelujah!
Let the weak say - "I am strong." Glory in your
infirmities, because God's strength is being made
perfect inside of you, even as you go about your daily
chores - one at a time. Something that was inordinate
in your organs, has been brought into subjection,
because you decided not to hold a "pity-party."
Health is yours!
Thoughts of thanksgiving can uplift you and renew you
- from that single, irregular microscopic cell to that
frail body part. It might not happen in a day's time.
Over a period of time, as you yield to patience and
soberness of mind, your physical body will recuperate.
Health will reign in your mortal body, because your
faith will allow God to restore you totally! Believe
what you have already asked Him for, my friend! See
if God won't act on your most holy faith!
If you're one who lives "on the clock," and your
lifestyle is competitive and demanding, God desires
that you live an ordered, temperate life - a life
without worry and stress. Let Him change the way you
respond to crises. Let Him show you how to accept
things you cannot change. Health will spring up
speedily in your mind and body, as you allow people to
be themselves, and not someone you want them to be.
Let God author integrity within you, so you fear Him,
and Him alone!
Let your moderation be known unto all men. Let others
observe you offering a prayer of thanksgiving over
what you eat, as you allow yourself to enjoy what is
set before you. Your body, emotions, appetite and
mind will prosper and be in good health, as you allow
peace to preside over your meals. Less criticism, and
more appreciation of that which you eat, will lengthen
your days, my friend. Digest your meals with love and
gratitude, as if they were heavenly manna - angels'
food from above.
If you have a loved one who's under a specialist's
care, pray that whatever organ the "cankerworm" is
feeding on will be restored to wholeness. Ask, seek
and knock. Believe what you pray. That person
doesn't want to be a burden for you. Let your faith
give you joy, and both you and they will experience
the consolation of God. Let your comfort bless both
you and them. This is the best "medicine."
Examine which habits are devouring your strength.
Meditate on those things which "eat you up" and cause
you mental anguish. Let them alone!
Give them to the Lord. Trust also in Him, and let Him
bring things to pass. This will be health to your
bones - to the bone marrow within.
God desires to heal you, my friend - within and
without. Let yourself live in wholeness. Cease from
harming the only temple you have. Your body has been
entrusted with something so precious, rubies and
diamonds can't even buy it - that is your eternal,
God-given soul. Your soul needs a healthy body, in
which to operate. Keep your heart, your body, and
your mind stayed on Jesus, and that perfect peace He's given to you,
will begin to bring you dividends!
