Forgiveness
St.Matthew 6:14-15
For if ye forgive men their trespasses your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not, neither will your Father forgive you your trespasses.
Prayer:
Father, we want to talk with you about trespassing.
Many are invading the lives of one another. Some know
they are doing it, and others are completely unaware.
Help us not to intrude into one another's business.
Show us how to pray about those who are forward and
rude to us. Lord, sometimes we get so prideful that
we think people have to take what we dish out to them.
Please help us. This is not Christ-like!
Help us Lord, not to take this attitude into another
year. Help us to see why people trespass against us.
Give us the wisdom how to deal with them as a
righteous person deals with things. Lead us in a
plain path, so we will not err too.
Rich and poor, old and young, persons of all callings
are flaunting their power, their opinions, their
philosophies and their airs - flexing their fleshly
muscles throughout Your earth. Lord help them to
cease from troubling us, even as you show us how we're
overstepping bounds with some ourselves.
Our rights are trampled on every day. People intrude
on our privacy, trespass on our time and go way beyond
the limits of what is right. But your Word says that
we are not to marvel, for did we not do these same
things to You and others, before we were brought into
the knowledge that we were trespassing against You?
Oh, how we forget from whence you have brought us.
Bless our memories, Father.
You sent Your Word, and healed us, forgave us and
removed our trespasses from us, as far as the East is
from the West, and cast them into a sea of
forgetfulness. For this, we thank You. We praise
You. We bless You!
Help us to remove hurts, offenses and wrongful acts
from our minds, and get on with our lives. Show us
how to put off the old, overlook the neglect we have
suffered, and love one another anyway. We cannot reach
forth to that which lies beyond us, if we don't let
these things go. We know this, too. As your dear
children, we look to You - our Father - to see how to
forgive, once and for all!
Your Word is a light that will show us not to resent
people, but rather to be loving and kind-hearted.
Christ is our example of forgiveness. Thank you Jesus
for your great love wherewith you died to save us and
reconcile us to the Father. We are spared the
destruction of hell, only because You forgave us and
removed the punishment we so rightly deserved. Love
lifted us! Love set us free! Thank You Jesus!
Now, will you teach us how to behave holily and
righteously, as we enter the next year? Let us not
approach the new year with anger, hard feelings and
thoughts of revenge. Let not the sun of this year go
down on our wrath, anger and bitterness in our hearts.
Jesus, you're our Peace. Let peace arise and shine
from within us, from this very moment.
Lord, we incline our hearts to obey you now, and seek
to pardon all who have ought in their hearts against
us. We cannot expect you to answer our prayers if we
harbor unforgiveness within. Please wash us with the
washing of the water of your holy Word, and purge our
record in heaven.
Father, thank you for the Spirit of agape love -
charity - which bears all things. Thank you for
taking away the sins which so easily beset us down
through the years. As we grow in your grace, we
earnestly expect to love one another even more. We
know that when we forgive and learn to be more
forbearing with others, that we shall reap Your
perfect love.
You are holy, just and good, and we love you, Jesus.
It's not by our might, nor by our power, but it's by
your Spirit that we are greater than unforgiveness.
Your Word is Spirit and Life, and we have new life in
us, to take us into the new year. This message is of
You. It has been sent to liberate our souls which are
tired of the old hurts and angry thoughts. Lord, as
we repent, we feel them passing away.
Behold! There's a newness that's springing up in our
minds, renewing our attitudes! Lord, you are a
Creator indeed! Thank you for the new mind! By
faith, we are not the same old person!
Thank you for your love. As you so love us, we fix
our hearts to so love one another. By this, shall all
men know that we are of Christ - that we forgive and
love one another! Thank you for this inheritance
today! More of You, and less of us, dear Father. It
will be a miracle as we decrease so that Christ may
increase.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! To You, Father, be glory both now and forever. Amen.
